If you find yourself waking up in a haze after a drunken night and wondering, am I an alcoholic then you are not alone. Even if you don't ever drink and drive, you could suffer from alcoholic liver disease or worse, cirrhosis of the liver. Fatal alcohol poisoning is another risk for heavy drinkers.
When it comes to alcoholism, fact of the matter is that it's better to be safe than sorry. If you suspect you have a problem, head to your doctor or an alcohol counselor immediately. They can teach you more about alcoholism and help you answer your question of 'am I am alcoholic?' If the answer is yes, treatment options will be discussed. There are many types of treatment, including outpatient, inpatient, alternative medicine and traditional medicine. What works for one person may be worthless to another, so find which type of treatment best suits your personality, your life and your level of alcoholism.
